The 1st Conference of the newly established Greek Academy of Human Resource Management (EADAD) was successfully held at the Department of Economics, University of Thessaly in Volos on June 13-14, 2024. The conference was attended by over 50 academics, researchers, and professionals in Human Resource Management, and a series of scientific presentations were held on Human Resource Management, Organizational Behavior, and Work & Organizational Psychology. The responsibility for the organization and successful conduct of the Conference was held by Victoria Bellou, Professor of Business Administration at the University of Thessaly.
The Conference was held following the first meeting of the Academic Community of Human Resource Management last year at the Athens University of Economics and Business, and in Volos, the necessary steps were taken for the EADAD to gradually take "flesh and bones", such as the signing of the founding act/statute and the election of the first temporary Board of Directors.
According to its statute, the purpose of EADAD is:
- The promotion, application, and dissemination of the science of Human Resource Management (or Administration) and related scientific fields, such as, but not limited to, Organizational Behavior and Work/Organizational Psychology in Greece, so as to contribute to increasing the value offered by organizations to society and to improving the position of employees and organizations.
- The expression of the academic, professional and business community of the science of Human Resource Management and related scientific fields in Greece.
- The contribution through its work and scope of action to the development of the country and the competitiveness of the Greek economy.
The EADAD will be open not only to academic researchers in the field of Human Resource Management, but also to HR professionals in order to bring scientific research closer to practice and vice versa.
